Located in the parish of Alvalade, the Corucheús Basic School, once known as the Fernando Pessoa School due to its location on the street with the same name, was the target of an intervention that allowed the space to gain new facilities.
The demolition of some unused buildings and others without conditions of use made it possible to gain areas that had previously been wasted. It was in these new spaces that a canteen, a gymnasium, a playground, new sanitary facilities, and a study/library room were built from scratch. The remaining spaces were the target of an intervention to improve its image that has been degraded with several years of use.
With a modern architecture, the new spaces were organized in order to find harmony with the surrounding green spaces, integrating perfectly in the surrounding neighborhood. The connection of the spaces is made by a new playground full of space and endowed with a children's equipment where kids can play.
Without disrupting the academic year, the works were in harmony with the normality of the school. With this work, the school was updated, with better conditions that will enable the learning of future generations.
